How to start gaining with binary options

When to trade binary options ? Trading sessions that keep you in the money ITM.

Knowing WHEN to trade Binary options is quintessential in keeping you IN THE MONEY. If you are a new Trader, you are probably asking why should it matter? The Market is Open 24 hours a day – right? Wrong!

The first maxim to keep in mind as a new Trader, is that you want to trade when the markets are Trending not when the Market is ranging. A Trending Market offers you a perfect opportunity to prepare your strategy, take your Tools From the Tool Box, and Trade. You can Trade successfully when the market moves UP or when it moves DOWN but you cannot WIN trades when the market is moving sideways.

To understand the best time to trade, a Trader needs to understand the time frames of Different Trading Sessions all over the world

Watch this video with live trading or continue reading.

In a 24 hour day trading can be broken down into four major sessions. The Sydney Session Opens first, followed by the Asian Sessions or the Tokyo session. The big boys then start Trading a couple of hours later, and this is the London Session, followed by New York Session which is the last session and blends again into the Sydney Session.

Since Europe and the US have a Summer and a Winter Time Frame the Down Time Sessions vary from summer to winter.

As can be seen from the grid above – there are times when the sessions overlap – and these are the busiest time frames for Trading Binary Options. Since there is more volume of trading, the market will reflect in stronger trends.

best time to tradeThe European Session is the session which usually provides most movement and as with a great TV Series, this is when their ratings or liquidity are peaking.

The overlap between the Tokyo and London session is the thinnest – at the end of day of a long Tokyo day the Japanese traders are thinking of their sushi whilst the slow English Traders are contemplating their Earl Grey. As liquidity dries up, the movements on the markets become very slow – and this becomes a lazy time for trading. If you are a Newbie and you do not avoid this time – you will find that an Option you have taken may scarcely move from the original price. A very risky situation.

On the other hand the London and New York Overlap is when all the drama enfolds. You can literally feel the energy from the force of trading. This is when you can see some big price movements in the market.

A careful watch for Economic Calendars is very advisable. If there is any important news to be announced, you may want to avoid trading if you are a Newbie. News affects market movement in a completely different manner from a Trending Market. Establish What kind of Trader are you in order to see which style of trading suits your personality.

News Announcements = Volatility = Opportunity = Risk.

The ForexFactory Calendar gives you a complete forecast of the upcoming News Announcements and the strength of their impact on the markets.

Note also that towards the end of the European Sessions EU Traders may be closing their positions whilst the US Traders will be contemplating lunch and not on their best trading behaviour – this can reflect in a choppy market.

We have established that the busiest session to trade in is the London Session – but there are also days of the week which are particularly better to trade in than others.

Understandably the slowest date and time of the week would be Friday Afternoon. As most Traders are busy planning how to enjoy the spoils of their week’s profits, this time frame becomes particularly sluggish. The slowest and absolute time to avoid is the Friday Afternoon of the US Session since all other Sessions will have closed, and the US Traders are the only players in the field.

Mondays are the slow start for the week, with Traders reminiscing over their lovely weekends – so until strategies are planned for the coming week – Monday mornings are relatively slow and probably nervous hours for most sessions. Once again it is a time frame to be avoided particularly if you are a Novice Binary Options Trader.

Best days of the week would be Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, when everyone’s adrenaline is pumping.

Knowing WHEN to trade and WHEN NOT to trade is to arm yourself with great tools that will help you trade more successfully.

  1. Yay thanks for the great tips! I am new to this, very new haha…and I am wandering around your sight and am glad you have great reviews. This article will help immensely, thanks again!

  2. Hi Sheriff,

Is Copy Buffett and 24Option a combination that I can run with?

Please educate me as I am new in this.

    1. Hi Lerato. 24 Option are regulated brokers which are on rotation and synched with Copy Buffett. Whether you get them as your dedicated brokers will depend on your geographical area. We have sent you a detailed email to tell you how you can do to get them

    1. Hello. You are in the ES Time frame which is a good time to trade. Do not trade in the slow hours which are before 9.00 am and after 5.00pm
Yes Canada there are plenty of Good Brokers. One highly recommended broker which is CySec Regulated is 24 Option and they have a very good platform.

    2. There are only 10 types of people in the world; those who understand binary and those who don`t
People have lost so much in binary options, that is; Traders have failed to withdraw profits made from binary options, failed to use the right strategies when needed, failed to engage with the right broker, not giving their trade a break, also having too many trading accounts which is one of the cause of their lost of funds, deposits of too low or too high amount of funds and most especially, not being able to present the full history of their trade when trying to withdraw their profits.
If you are out there and having problems such as these or you are a beginner, or for a good reason need to raise your standard of living or you have been scammed or you have problems withdrawing profits made from your recent trades, contact me on

  3. Hi Sheriff,
Thank you for sharing so much information and great reviews. I am quite new to Binary Options trading and was wondering if you could tell me the best time or times to trade in Australia. Also the best times to trade with the auto trader Binadroid in Australia as well as Mikes Auto Trader? Thank you so much!

    1. Hi Rachel. Thanks. Trading should always be during active sessions. You are in the Eastern Session being in Australia. Actively trade only after 9.00 am and before 4.00 pm during that session. After that starts the European Session, which is the most traded session. Watch out for news announcements by checking the Economic Updates – this can be done through Economic Calendar. Trading with auto traders and signals, must always be done, bearing in mind that they are not reactive to news announcements. Back to time sessions, your late evenings such at 10.00 pm afterwards are catching the European session and therefore you can trade again. If you want more information, contact us via support{at}

      1. If possible, could you also mess I should or should not trade in Sweden. The time zones overwhelm me at first glance, and I didn’t quite make sense of the list above, sorry for that..i love you and the site though…sorry for commenting everywhere. 🙂

  4. Thank you sheriff for the info. Glad to watch your video in you tube. I have no experience by trading and have a bad experience with some brokers which I registered with a month ago.
After I watched your video, I registered & deposit a mininum at magnumoptions by using a copy buffet software. And I tried to set an auto trading since last night until this morning but only 3tradings have done. It’s 1lost & 2wons.
Please help to step by step on how to trade.

  5. Hi Sheriff, have watched several of your videos to date and am highly impressed with the professionalism and expertise conveyed therein…That being said, I live in Seattle, WA (Pacific Time Zone of the U.S.), so best times to trade would be between 5 and 8am, but no later than noon my time, correct? Also, for U.S. traders I’ve heard that Nadex is good, but that Finnpari scores with the best ratings for U.S. friendly brokers-what are your thoughts on this? thank you for your time?

    1. Thank you Terry for a very informed comment. You are right on all counts and it seems like you are doing proper due diligence on everything including Traders. Yes we confirm that NADEX are the only regulated broker in the U.S however Finnpari have an excellent reputation as well. Trading times, are really depending on the sessions. You can trade any session, be it Asian Session, European Session or U.S session. It is important to trade only when the market is trending and not when the market is sluggish and dead and slow, as these are risk zones that can result in losses. Always check the Economic Calendar to see whether there is an important news update which might spike prices due to market sentiment. Finally we recommend a very good site called and their school of Pipsology, which makes learning how to trade fun and easy.

  6. Dear Sheriff,
I live in Africa and my time zone is EAT(GMT +3), what is the best times(in GMT) to trade in each of the four Sessions?

    Thank you

    1. Any Trading session is a good session if the Market is trending. Avoid quiet areas like early or late in the sessions, and of course avoid highly volatile pockets when there is an economic update

  13. Hi Sheriff. I always read your reports and have a lot of confidence in you. I live in Cape Town, South Africa. I am new at this and have tried with Blu Bit Bank. 14. I got with Omega Options thru Crunch Tech, never used the robot as it would not place trades and the support never answered emails. However Omega is constantly sending me emails for Guaranteed profit Contracts, 5,000 returns 8,250/10,000 returns 16500 and so on. The broker assures me that it is legit, and I have searched the internet for complaints of scams by this method with no results, Have you or anyone else heard of this type of contract?

  15. I really would like to see an actual well executed unbiased test of your Top Five recommendations Pics. I would pay to see a honest comparisons think this would set you apart from all other rating mills

  16. Hi..Sherrif.

  18. Hi sheriff

Can you please help me with a trading strategy improve my Binary trading to minimise my losses. Please may you kindly assist me .

  19. hi!! I am interested in trading but i am new in this field .. can you suggest any brokers and traders i can use.. i am currently staying in dubai u.a.e.

  20. Hi! I’ve been practicing for weeks now at iq options demo account. And I say this article is so far the most informative I’ve bumped into.

  21. Hi Sherif!
What do think about new brokers and the managed accounts?
I got one with 2 month ago and it doubled the deposit.
    Should I go for more?

    1. Morgan, do you mean that you took a bonus? Please do real all the rules attached to taking a bonus. I hope that you are not regretting this. I would not recommend that you go for more no. As for managed accounts, why should you lose control over your funds and your account? At some point some manager will send you their apologies for having a bad streak of luck

  22. I’m looking into this binary options trading, but I don’t have a reliable computer to run software all the time,so I was asking what would be a good program to use without downloading any software to my computer.
I have looked at the Lexington code but it requires a download and so does simple bot,I don’t know anything about this stuff to make a good decision on what to do or which program is best suited for me…

    1. If you do not have reliable computers and internet, it is not recommendable to trade or to use software systems. If you run out of juice, you may not be able to reverse trades

  23. Hi sheriff am in Kenya… which strategy is the best strategy to trade with and at what time should i trade in Kenya…also indicate which holidays to avoid please

    1. Hi. Thanks for your comment. It is quite important to trade during high trading hours. Therefore you can choose either the European or Asian or even Australian sessions – whichever are closer to your time frame. However, avoid slow hours like early trading hours and late trading hours when volatility becomes sluggish. Remember that if prices are going sideways, you cannot really earn much. You should have a look at our e-Book on the mainpage because you will have a lot of information about trading there
